I love all types of cars – classic cars and exotic cars, domestic cars and foreign cars, sports cars and SUVs, convertibles and trucks, and everything else in between. If it has wheels, I’m interested.
I also love just about any activity involving cars – I love driving them and cleaning them, reading and talking about them, shopping for and buying them, looking at and listening to them, and, while I’m not the greasiest thumb, fixing them as well.
I consider myself a true enthusiast, who has been passionate about cars since as long as I can remember and before that according to my parents. This website is my way of bringing this passion to life. Online car auctions have rapidly grown as premier destinations to buy used cars, particularly classic, exotic, and otherwise cool cars that are coveted by enthusiasts. In my anecdotal experience, BaT, Cars & Bids, Hemmings, and PCARMARKET are the four major players that dominate the market. While all four sites have similarities in how they curate listings and manage the auctions, they each seem to have certain niches and distinctive feels that make them unique. I have purchased multiple cars across the platforms, which were great experiences, but, since I’m not Jay Leno or Jerry Seinfeld, I spend the vast majority of my time ogling dozens of listings a day and pondering what it would be like to own and experience a wide variety of cars. This pastime also allows me to track the most current market information to be ready for the rare occasions I am able to jump into the bidders pool.
This website is a passion project, and it is a way for me to connect more directly with the broadest community of car enthusiasts. In addition to consolidating online car auction listings and results, CARL is my personal blog primarily focused on my experiences with cars from participating in online auctions to driving adventures, cool automotive sightings, family stories, and more.
